Enugwu-Ukwu, Anambra State – In a significant move to bolster community security, the Enugwu-Ukwu Forum, a think-tank group of progressive indigenes, on Saturday, December 28, 2024, officially handed over a multi-storey security tower to the Enugwu-Ukwu community. The project, fully funded by forum members, is aimed at enhancing safety and monitoring within the area.

During the handover ceremony, the President of the Forum, Kingsley Okonkwo, reaffirmed the group’s commitment to fostering the security and well-being of the community. “We remain dedicated to supporting initiatives that keep Enugwu-Ukwu safe and thriving,” he stated.

The traditional ruler of Enugwu-Ukwu, HRM Igwe Sir Ralph Obunneme Ekpeh, who graced the occasion, lauded the forum for its patriotic efforts. He described the security tower as a testament to the indigenes’ collective commitment to progress and development.

Chief Patrick Nworji, the President General of the Enugwu-Ukwu Community Development Union (ECDU), expressed confidence in the utility of the tower. He assured attendees that the community’s Security Council would maintain the facility and integrate it with existing security measures.

“This security tower provides our Vigilante operatives with a 360-degree view of Enugwu-Ukwu,” Chief Nworji explained. “It complements our CCTV cameras and other advanced security equipment, including the multi-million-naira gear recently donated by ECDU-USA.”

The event underscores the collaborative spirit and dedication of Ndi Enugwu-Ukwu in addressing community challenges and ensuring the safety of residents.
