EX-ONDO LAWMAKERS BEG AKEREDOLU TO PAY SEVERANCE ALLOWANCES

Former members of the Ondo State House of Assembly have appealed to the State Governor Rotimi

Akeredolu, to pay severance allowances owed to them by the government.

A former deputy speaker of the Assembly, Mr Dare Emiola, on behalf of other colleagues, made the appeal at the inauguration of the newly renovated House of Assembly Complex in Akure, the state capital.

Governor Akeredolu had approved the renovation of the state Assembly complex following a report that snakes chased out the lawmakers during a plenary session in July 2019.

Until the renovation was completed, the lawmakers had been having their plenary sessions inside a small apartment on the premises of the Assembly.

Emiola, who is the Chairman of the state House of Assembly Service Commission, commended Akeredolu for the development and further appealed him to pay their severance allowances.

But Ondo State Deputy Governor, Mr Luck Aiyedatiwa, who represented the governor, said the issue of the severance allowance of the former lawmakers would be resolved.

In his remarks, the Speaker of the Assembly, Mr Bamidele Oloyeloogun, lauded the state governor for carrying out the renovation of the Assembly complex, noting that the development was historic.
