FCT Senator Accuses Wike of Ignoring Her Messages, Letters Following Abuja Insecurity

Senator representing the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Ireti Kingibe, has said there is a big disconnect between the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, and the elected officials.

Speaking on a Television Interview on Sunday, the lawmaker, who was elected on the platform of the Labour Party, LP, said she has sent WhatsApp messages and written him one or two letters but got no response.

Speaking on the root cause of the worsening state of insecurity in the nation’s capital, Senator Ireti said and IQUOTE ‘without exaggerating maybe a quarter of the Police Force is guarding VIP, which is not their primary function.

“A little bit earlier I tried to draw their attention (security operatives) and I was told that it was exaggerated.” END QUOTE

The FCT is presently being ravaged by kidnappers, who take their victims into different forests around Abuja, Kaduna, Niger and other surrounding States.

The  lawmaker had also revealed plans by the Senate to summon Wike over the worsening cases of insecurity in and round the FCT
