The Federal Ministry of Works and Housing has cited the incessant attacks by bandits’ on the Kaduna- Kano-Abuja road as the reason for the slow pace of construction work on the axis.
The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mahmuda Mamman, who spoke to newsmen after an inspection tour, noted that work on the road would soon be completed, following the improved security situation.
He added that the contractor handling the project had promised to complete the entire project within the given timeline.
Mamman explained that the ministry embarked on the familiarization journey from the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Expressway purposely to monitor the progress made so far.
He further said the purpose of the familiarization visit was to assess the challenges and find means of mitigating them.
