FIFA Rankings: Super Falcons Retain Africa’s Top Spot, 36th Worldwide

Nigeria’s Super Falcons have retained their position as the top-ranked women’s football team in Africa and 36th in the world, according to the latest FIFA Women’s World Rankings released on Thursday. The Falcons garnered a total of 1,630 points in the updated rankings.

Reigning world champions Spain continue to lead the global standings with 2,066 points, closely followed by the United States with 2,065 points. Sweden is ranked third with 2,025 points, while European champions England sit in fourth place with 2,022 points.

In Africa, South Africa’s Banyana Banyana remain second on the continent and 54th globally with 1,465 points.

Morocco, runners-up and hosts of the last Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), are ranked third in Africa and 64th in the world with 1,407 points. Zambia follows closely behind with 1,402 points, sitting in 65th position globally.

The next FIFA Women’s World Rankings update is scheduled for December 11, 2025.
