Five male suspects have been arrested in connection with the alleged murder of 46-year-old Lanre Adebayo, a political science graduate from the University of Ilorin. According to reports, the incident occurred on Sunday night in the Ita-Elepa area of Ilorin West Local Government Area.
Details gathered by VOPTV indicate that Adebayo was involved in a heated argument with local security men on his way home, which escalated into violence. Unfortunately, he was allegedly macheted to death around 10:00 p.m.
The suspects, including the community chairman and two local security guards, were arrested by police operatives on Tuesday and transferred to the Kwara State Criminal Investigation Department headquarters on Wednesday. The police have confirmed the incident and stated that investigation is ongoing.
