Retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Hakeem Odumosu has denied reports that he was appointed as a substantive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
Reports emerged on Tuesday that Odumosu’s appointment is subject to confirmation by the Senate.
You will recall that President Bola Tinubu suspended the former chairman of the anti-corruption agency, Abdulrasheed Bawa for misconduct while in office.
He was subsequently invited by the Department of State Services (DSS) for questioning.
But a statement issued and signed by Odumosu today denied being aware of such an appointment.
He described the circulation of the appointment as fake and urged Nigerians to disregard the report.
He debunked the information as totally untrue, saying it must have emanated from mischief makers and should be totally disregarded.
