Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has condemned the renewed wave of terrorist attacks across parts of his constituency, describing the situation as “deeply worrisome” and completely unacceptable.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the lawmaker revealed that four farmers were brutally killed by Boko Haram insurgents while working on their farmlands in Kwam village, near the Dille community in Askira-Uba Local Government Area.
Ndume said the victims were harvesting their crops when they were ambushed, a development he noted underscores the worsening insecurity in remote communities that remain vulnerable despite years of sustained military operations.
“I am deeply perturbed by the renewed attacks by Boko Haram terrorists in some parts of my constituency over the past week.
“These attacks led to the killing of four farmers while harvesting their crops in Kwam village, near Dille community of Askira-Uba Local Government Area,” he said.
The senator stressed that the killings were not isolated incidents, pointing out that insurgents had intensified assaults across several communities in recent days.

“Just last week, a church and other structures in Pemi were set ablaze, and yesterday (Wednesday), there were reports of a Boko Haram invasion in the Shikarkir community of Chibok Local Government Area,” Ndume lamented.
He criticised the inability of security operatives to maintain a consistent presence in rural areas, arguing that the absence of sustained surveillance has emboldened insurgents to launch attacks without resistance.
“The situation is worrisome because the inability of security agencies to secure these remote communities has led to an increase in attacks without confrontation,” he added.
