The Governing Council of the Federal University, Lokoja, on Thursday, approved the dismissal of four lecturers over examination and sexual misconducts.

The university’s Governing Council reportedly gave the approval at its Second Council Meeting on Thursday.

This is coming after the conclusion of the investigation of allegations of examination malpractices and sexual harassment levelled against the lecturers last year.

The council, under the leadership of Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, appreciated the university management for thoroughly investigating the allegations levelled against the lecturers.

According to Ndoma-Egba, “The council will not tolerate any unethical conduct in the university.”

He called on the university to quickly process the other pending cases of misconduct, especially one in the Faculty of Science that is trending in the media.

The Council which warned staff members and lecturers against all forms of molestation of students, stressed that no misconduct would be swept under the carpet.

It also urged the students to always endeavour to report to the appropriate quarters whenever they are molested by anyone.
