Fr Januarius Shonfo Celebrates Thanksgiving Mass/Vop

Newly Ordained Priest of the Catholic Diocese of Jalingo, Rev Fr Januarius Shonfo Raphael has celebrated his first Thanksgiving Mass as a priest to thank God for his faithfulness and blessings.

The Holy Mass was celebrated at St Patrick’s Pastoral Area Kpantinapo Jalingo on Sunday 26/1/2025. He was flanked by the Director Justice and Peace Commission Rev Fr Clement Tiba and Rev Fr Stephen Keghdwem.

Preaching the homily during the Holy Mass, Rev Fr Moses Angyian tasked the Newly Ordained to make himself always available to the people of God even as he told him to be very prayerful. Fr Angyian charged the lay faithful to pray always for their priests, and went on to encourage them to support their Priests morally and financially.

After the Holy Mass, at the reception, the Newly Ordained, assisted by some members of the hightable, cut his Thanksgiving cake. Highlights of the event include cultural dance steps by the Mumuye traditional dancers, presentation of gifts to the celebrant and finally the celebrant was adorned in his Mumuye traditional attire.

May God bless Fr Januarius as he begins his service through the priesthood to God and His people. Amen.
