Legal expert Barrister Darlington has dismissed the impeachment bid against Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara as a baseless and illegitimate move. Reacting to the controversy, Darlington questioned the very existence of a legally recognized legislative body in the state, arguing that any attempt to remove the governor is nothing more than political theatrics.
“This so-called impeachment process does not hold water,” Darlington stated. “Can we even say there is a legitimate House of Assembly in Rivers State? This is nothing but a desperate attempt to subvert democracy.”
With the state’s political climate heating up, Fubara’s supporters insist that any impeachment effort is doomed to fail. Meanwhile, critics argue that the unfolding drama only exposes the deep-rooted power struggle within the state’s political elite.
