The German Embassy Abuja has announced a vacancy for a full-time administrative officer in its political department, with applications open until April 30, 2026.

In a job notice published on Monday, the embassy said it is seeking a qualified case worker to join its political unit on a 40-hour weekly schedule, with employment expected to begin as soon as possible.

“The position is initially limited to one year, with the prospect of permanent employment,” the notice stated.

Successful applicants will be responsible for monitoring media reports across print, online, and social platforms, maintaining networks with political stakeholders, and supporting diplomatic engagements and related projects.

Requirements

The embassy outlined key language requirements, including a minimum of C1-level proficiency in English and B2-level proficiency in German.

Applicants are required to submit a cover letter and curriculum vitae in German, along with academic certificates and, where applicable, recommendation letters.

Application process

Applications are to be sent via email to the embassy, with the deadline set for April 30, 2026.

The selection process for shortlisted candidates will take place in Abuja between May and June 2026, while only successful applicants will be contacted.

The embassy noted that it will not acknowledge receipt of applications and will not cover travel expenses for interviews.

It also encouraged qualified women to apply for the role.
