The Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) has upgraded its Ikoyi head office with a modern stair lift to make it more accessible for everyone.
LASWA said on Thursday that the initiative, which particularly targets the physically challenged community and the elderly, is part of Lagos State Government’s THEMES+ agenda aimed at carrying everyone along.
The agency said the new stair lift is designed to help those needing assistance to navigate stairs safely and comfortably.
Speaking on the development, the General Manager, Oluwadamilola Emmanuel, said the stair lift is part of LASWA’s wider effort to improve the headquarters’ facilities, prioritising safety, convenience and exceptional service.
He stressed that accessing public space should not be a challenge for anyone, adding that LASWA is committed to making its services and the Lagos waterways easy and accessible for everyone.
