Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has paid another set of half-salary debts owed to civil servants.

The arrears were incurred by the Rauf Aregbesola administration.

During the Adegboyega Oyetola administration, no effort was made to offset the salary debts.

According to a statement signed by the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, this is the fourth time it has been paid since the inception of Adeleke’s administration.

The statement, which revealed that Governor Adeleke had previously approved a phased payment approach to address the 30-month half-salary debt, highlighted a similar agreement with pensioners for the settlement of a substantial N75 billion in outstanding pension and gratuity.

The governor emphasized proactive measures taken upon assuming office, including the issuance of a circular on phased payment by the Head of Service under his directive

He assured workers that the implementation will continue unabated alongside other welfare packages for both active workers and retirees.
