Governor Fumes as Gunmen Kill ‘scores’ in Benue Community

Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia has condemned the attack by gunmen on Akpuuna and Diom communities in Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State.

Gunmen had invaded  Akpuuna and adjourning villages in the Ukum local government area of the state on Saturday killing 24 people and injuring others.

In his condolence message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Kula Tersoo today, Governor Alia said that he was disappointed to receive the killing of innocent citizens by the bandits.

The governor also advised the people of the Sankera axis to assist security agencies with useful information that will help quell insecurity in the area.

He expressed total displeasure over what he describes as a heinous crime and a grave sin against God and mankind.

The governor further directed security agents to arrest those behind the unlawful act and bring them to book
