The Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, welcomed the President of Salt Partners Ltd (Switzerland), Mr. Vladimir Sedivy, to the Government House on Monday, January 14, 2025.
The visit, which was at the invitation of the Ebonyi State Government, centered on the development of the state’s vast salt mineral deposits. Governor Nwifuru announced that he had granted approval for Mr. Sedivy to conduct comprehensive feasibility studies on the salt deposits in Ebonyi.
“If the feasibility reports prove bankable, Mr. Sedivy and his team will proceed to establish a salt factory in Ebonyi State,” the governor stated.
In addition, Governor Nwifuru directed the State Ministries of Solid Minerals Development and Commerce and Industry to collaborate with Mr. Sedivy in exploring the economic viability of the proposed project.
The governor’s commitment to the initiative underscores his administration’s efforts to harness Ebonyi’s natural resources for industrialization, job creation, and economic growth.
Mr. Sedivy’s visit is seen as a significant step toward leveraging foreign investment to transform Ebonyi State into a hub for salt production in Nigeria.
