Governor Soludo Hosts GOC 82 Division, Strengthens Security Collaboration/Vop

In a bid to enhance security and drive development in Anambra State, Governor Chukwuma Soludo welcomed the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 82 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General Thomas Olatoye, at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia. The meeting focused on deepening cooperation between the state government and the military to tackle security challenges and protect residents.

Governor Soludo reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to working closely with security agencies, particularly the Nigerian Army, to combat crime and ensure peace in local communities. Discussions also centered on strengthening military-civilian relations and implementing strategic measures to curb insecurity.

Major General Olatoye, who was accompanied by senior commanders, expressed gratitude for the warm reception and reiterated the Division’s readiness to collaborate with the state government. He highlighted recent military operations aimed at neutralizing security threats and assured continued efforts to safeguard lives and property in Anambra.

Olatoye, who assumed office as the 39th GOC of the Division on January 28, 2025, oversees military operations across the five southeastern states and Cross River State. His visit marks a significant step in reinforcing security partnerships between the Nigerian Army and the Anambra State Government.
