In a major step towards youth empowerment and economic development in Anambra State, Governor Chukwuma Soludo has officially launched a free vocational training program for 1,000 youths.
The initiative, spearheaded by graduates of the first phase of the state’s 1Youth, 2Skills program under the Solution Youthpreneur Support Group (SYPSG), aims to equip young people with practical skills for self-reliance and entrepreneurship.
Speaking at the launch ceremony held at the International Convention Centre, Awka, Governor Soludo reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to youth development. He emphasized that the program is more than just skills acquisition—it is a foundation for a prosperous future where Anambra youths can contribute meaningfully to society.

The event attracted key stakeholders, including the Chairman of the State Traditional Rulers’ Council, Igwe Chidubem Iweka, youth leaders, educators, and community advocates. The governor expressed appreciation for the unity and dedication of youth stakeholders, describing the initiative as a game-changer in the state’s development agenda.
Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Patrick Agha Mbah, highlighted that the program is a key pillar of the Solution Agenda and marks a significant milestone, as empowered youths are now making visible contributions to the economy.
Chairman of the Board of Trustees of SYPSG and Managing Director of Anambra Housing Development Corporation, Mr. Chike Anyaonu, alongside SYPSG Coordinator, Mr. Chinedu Ofojebe, reiterated that Governor Soludo remains committed to prioritizing youth empowerment, in line with his campaign promises.
The initiative is expected to drive economic growth, foster innovation, and position Anambra youths for a brighter future.
