Some security officers guarding an oil well in Izombe, Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State, has been shot by gunmen who raided the facility.
VOP news gathered that suspected security officers in armoured cars and Hilux vans stormed the oil-rich community around 4am today.
The invading security officers raided 17 wells belonging to Seplat Petroleum Company.
The latest incident comes less than two weeks after some residents were killed and several houses razed when soldiers stormed the area after the driver of a truck was said to have been killed by some irate youth.
However, Spokesperson for the 34 Artillery Brigade, Obinze, Captain Joseph Akubo, disclosed to correspondents that he was not aware of any invasion.
