News publisher, Tukur Mamu, has described his recent designation as a terrorist financier by the federal government of Nigeria as a ploy to soil his hard-earned reputation.
Mamu made the submission in a letter to the government in which he demanded the withdrawal of the allegation by the government.
You will recall that the federal government had recently named Mamu and others as terrorism financiers in the country.
However, in a letter dated March 25, 2024, written on his behalf by his lawyer and addressed to the Attorney General of the Federation, and copied to the Chief Executive Officer, Nigerian Financial Intelligent Unit (NFIU), he said no competent court has labelled him a terrorist financier, hence the government erred by labelling him as such.
He also handed the government a seven-day ultimatum to withdraw the allegation of being a terrorist financier and issue an apology to prevent litigation.
