A Wuse Magistrates’ Court in the Federal Capital Territory has ordered a 31-year-old tenant to vacate a property within one week.
Magistrate Farida Ibrahim issued the order on Thursday after the defendant pleaded not guilty to a charge of criminal intimidation.
The court further directed that the property’s fittings, which the defendant claimed to have installed, must remain intact. Ibrahim advised that he could file a separate suit to recover any expenses incurred.
She also ordered the defendant to write an undertaking to maintain peace while moving his belongings, while the nominal complainant must allow him access to retrieve them.
The defendant was granted bail in the sum of ₦1 million with one surety in like sum.
Earlier, prosecution counsel C. C. Okafor informed the court that the complainant, Dr. Zaina Kasaba of Jesse Jackson Street, Asokoro, reported the case at the Garki Police Station.
Okafor alleged that the defendant used a cutlass and knife to intimidate Kasaba while she was seeing off her visiting brother, and further threatened to kill her.
