In a devastating escalation of violence in the Red Sea, Houthi rebels launched their second attack in a week, sinking a commercial vessel on Wednesday, resulting in the deaths of four crew members, the rescue of ten others, and the abduction of an unknown number of individuals. The incident, which occurred off the coast of Yemen, has heightened fears over the safety of vital maritime routes.
According to maritime authorities, the ship, a cargo vessel navigating the Red Sea, was struck by missiles fired by Houthi forces late Tuesday evening. The attack caused catastrophic damage, leading to the vessel’s rapid sinking. Rescue operations, coordinated by regional naval forces, managed to save ten crew members who were found clinging to lifeboats and debris.
