
The Ijio community has paid a heartfelt tribute to the late Monsignor Emmanuel Yakubu, recognizing his immense contributions to both the Church and the town. Leading the delegation, His Royal Highness, Oba Mudasiru Oyewobi (Amuni-Ijio of Ijio Meso), alongside the Chiefs, the Yakubu family, and other representatives, visited the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Oyo, Most Rev. Emmanuel Badejo, to formally express their respect and gratitude.
Speaking during the visit, Oba Mudasiru Oyewobi described the late Monsignor as a pillar of the community and a father figure whose guidance was instrumental in his own ascension to the throne. He noted that Monsignor Yakubu was widely revered, earning the esteemed title Baba Ijio—Father of Ijio Meso.
