INEC to Begin Voter Registration in 811 Centres Nationwide

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced plans to conduct a year-long Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise across 811 centres in preparation for the 2027 general elections.

Online pre-registration: Starts August 18, 2025 Physical registration: Begins August 25, 2025.End date: August 30, 2026

The 811 designated centres will be spread across Nigeria’s 774 local government areas, all 36 states, and the Federal Capital Territory. Registration will take place Mondays to Fridays,  excluding national public holidays.

the exercise is aimed at expanding voter access, correcting registration errors, and accommodating first-time voters ahead of the 2027 polls. Nigerians are advised to register early to avoid last-minute congestion.
