Infrastructure: Abuja Will Look Different In 2027- Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has stated that Abuja will undergo significant transformation in infrastructure by the end of President Bola Tinubu’s first tenure in 2027.

Speaking at the inauguration of the War College/Army Checkpoint Road upgrade in Ushafa, Bwari Area Council, Wike highlighted ongoing projects in the area councils, noting that the administration’s commitment to development has led to the initiation of over 15 projects, with additional infrastructure underway in satellite towns. He emphasized that the improvements are not mere rhetoric but are visible, verifiable results within the first year of Tinubu’s administration.

Wike also revealed that beyond roads, the government has signed an agreement with a Chinese company to deliver potable water in Kwali, Gwagwalada, and Kuje. He urged FCT residents to support the administration’s efforts, underlining Tinubu’s directive to empower indigenous contractors, like Abdul Val Limited, which will complete the 18-kilometer Ushafa road project.

Bwari Area Council Chairman, Dr. John Gabaya, praised Wike’s commitment to rural infrastructure, calling it unprecedented, while Senate Committee on FCT Area Councils Chair David Jimkuta lauded the project as part of Tinubu’s “renewed hope agenda.”
