Lagos, Nigeria
In a dramatic twist to the ongoing controversy surrounding the late Nigerian artist Mohbad, social commentator and online personality VeryDarkMan — popularly known as VDM — has released a new video that’s sending shockwaves across social media.
The video, which went viral within hours of its release, breaks down key evidence surrounding music promoter Sam Larry’s alleged involvement in Mohbad’s harassment prior to his death in September 2023. In the nearly 10-minute expose, VDM claims that much of the online outrage against Sam Larry has been emotionally driven and not rooted in verified facts.
According to VDM, newly surfaced footage and eyewitness reports suggest that while Sam Larry may have had confrontations with Mohbad in the past, there is no direct link tying him to the artist’s sudden death. He accuses the public of rushing to judgment and calls for a more thorough and unbiased investigation.
This comes after months of speculation and protests demanding justice for Mohbad, whose untimely passing sparked a nationwide outcry and prompted government involvement. Sam Larry, who was previously arrested and questioned, has continued to maintain his innocence.
VDM’s video has reignited debate online, with many questioning the role of social media in shaping public opinion and whether cancel culture has gone too far.
As the investigation into Mohbad’s death continues, the public remains divided — with some applauding VDM for speaking up, while others believe the video is an attempt to distract from deeper truths yet to be uncovered.
For now, one thing is clear: the search for justice is far from over.
