Alexander Isak has returned to full team training with Liverpool FC after a lengthy injury absence, boosting hopes of his involvement in upcoming key fixtures.

The 26-year-old striker had been sidelined since December after suffering a fractured fibula and ankle injury, keeping him out of action for several months.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who posted on X on Thursday, Isak has now rejoined the squad in full training.

“Alexander Isak returns to team training with the Liverpool squad this week after a long injury. He’s expected to be called up this weekend and then against PSG,” Romano reported.

Isak has been gradually regaining fitness, and his return to group sessions under manager Arne Slot marks a major step in his recovery process.

While he may be included in the squad for this weekend’s FA Cup clash against Manchester City, the club is expected to manage his return carefully.

He is likely to start from the bench rather than be named in the starting lineup, as the coaching staff monitor his fitness levels.

The forward is also expected to be available for Liverpool’s crucial UEFA Champions League tie against Paris Saint-Germain, where he could feature as a substitute.

His return provides a timely boost for Liverpool as they prepare for a demanding run of high-stakes matches across domestic and European competitions.
