In a recent development, he Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has set 140 and above as cut off mark for 2022/23 admissions into universities across the country.

The Registrar of the board, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, disclosed this during a presentation at the 2023 Policy Meeting on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions and awards today in Abuja.

He explained that 100 had been approved as cut off mark into Polytechnics and Colleges of Education.

He further explained that all tertiary institutions had earlier sent their proposed cut-off mark to the Board and that no institution would be allowed to go below what has been proposed as their individual cut-off mark.

He also said that every tertiary institution must ensure its own minimum standard especially as it related to institutional screening and grading in the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE), which must not be lower than 50 marks.
