The Kaduna State Police Command has rescued a 65-year-old man locked up for 20 years in a room in the state.
It was learnt that Environmental Health Officers under the Kaduna North Local Government Area of the state, who visited the house for a routine check forced their way into the room and were amazed that a man was naked and lying on the floor.
The Environment Officers, it was learnt, quickly alerted the Magajin Gari Divisional Police Office, who went to the scene with the Divisional Police Officer to rescue the man from the room.
According to the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Mohammed Jalige, preliminary investigation revealed that the victim has been locked in the room for the past 20 years where he urinates and defecates.
Speaking to Journalists at the scene in the state capital on today, Jalinge said the state Commissioner of Police, Yekini Ayoku has directed a full investigation into the matter to apprehend any suspect associated with the gruesome act.
