Kano Forest Security Received 149 Crime Cases in July, PRO Confirms

The Nigeria Forest and Security Service (NFSS), Kano State Command, says it received 149 crime-related complaints in July.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Usman Umar, disclosed this in an interview with Voice of the People (VOP) on Friday in Kano.

According to him, the figure marks a sharp increase from the 83 complaints recorded in June. He explained that the NFSS remains committed to its mandate of preventing and detecting crimes, as well as tackling illegal activities within the forests.

Umar revealed that of the 149 cases received, 93 had been resolved while 56 were still pending. The cases, he said, included bush burning, cattle rustling, vehicle and motorcycle theft, kidnapping, burglary, thuggery, and robbery.

He assured residents that the NFSS would sustain efforts to secure forest areas and make them crime-free, while urging the public to report suspicious or criminal activities in their communities.
