IFEANYI EJIOFOR counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), on Tuesday said his client’s health was deteriorating in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).
The lawyer said the DSS refused N1 million given it by Kanu’s lead counsel, Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN), for the agitator’s medical needs.
Ejiofor said Kanu has been suffering from heart problems and some mineral deficiencies which require specialists’ attention.
He disclosed further, that Kanu has been refused access to his private doctors for the management of his health condition.
Ejiofor, who said he visited Kanu on Monday at the DSS detention facility, Abuja, said his client needed immediate attention without further delay.
