Karma? LASU Lecturer Reminds Kidnapped Afenifere Youth Leader Ojajuni of Past ‘Ashawo’ Insult

A lecturer at Lagos State University (LASU), Dr. Adeyinka Bello-Olarinmoye, has reignited controversy by recalling how Afenifere Youth Council President, Prince Eniola Ojajuni, allegedly verbally attacked her during the 2023 presidential campaign—calling her *Ashawo* (prostitute) and other unprintable names.

Ojajuni, who was recently abducted by gunmen in Abuja and spent 12 days in captivity before regaining his freedom, is now at the center of a social media debate after Bello-Olarinmoye’s remarks.

Taking to Facebook on Friday, she stated: *“Someone reminded me about Ojajuni verbally attacking me during the 2023 presidential campaign, calling me names including Ashawo. I smiled and told him human life first. I’m saying this so he can learn. In all we do, humanity first! Tables can turn.”*

Her statement has sparked mixed reactions, with some commending her for promoting empathy, while others see it as a subtle jab at Ojajuni in his moment of vulnerability.

Dr. Bello-Olarinmoye, a seasoned political mobilizer, previously served as the ICG chairman for Ambode’s campaign in Igando Ikotun (2015) and as Lagos State Deputy Coordinator for the Buhari/Osinbajo House-to-House Campaign in 2019.

With tensions still fresh from the heated 2023 elections, her remarks have ignited debate: Is this a lesson in humility for Ojajuni, or a veiled reminder that past words can come back to haunt even the most powerful figures?
