Former Labour Party (LP) presidential campaign spokesman, Kenneth Okonkwo, has declared the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as the only true opposition party in Nigeria.

Speaking in a recent interview, Okonkwo dismissed both the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP) as weak and ineffective, claiming they “exist only on paper” without genuine structures or commitment to challenging the ruling party.
He argued that the ADC has demonstrated more consistency and focus in its political agenda, adding that Nigerians are increasingly disillusioned with parties that fail to provide credible alternatives.
Okonkwo, who has been critical of the Labour Party leadership since the 2023 elections, said his remarks reflect the frustration of many citizens who had hoped for stronger opposition to hold government accountable.
Political analysts, however, note that both the PDP and LP still retain elected representatives across federal and state levels, though internal divisions have weakened their influence.
