The Kogi State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to securing justice for Mr. Ayo Aiyepeku, the photojournalist who was recently murdered under mysterious circumstances.
This assurance was contained in a statement issued in Lokoja by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo.
Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has directed security agencies to carry out a thorough investigation to uncover the truth behind Aiyepeku’s gruesome killing.
“Justice may not bring the dead back to life, but it will give the family of the deceased some comfort, knowing their son did not die in vain,” the statement read.
Fanwo stressed that the safety and security of citizens remain a top priority for the current administration. He said the government would ensure that no stone is left unturned in identifying and prosecuting those responsible for the crime.
He also confirmed that investigations are ongoing, not only into the murder itself but also into the suspicious death of the prime suspect in the case.
The government called on the public to remain vigilant and to support the investigation by providing credible information to security agencies.
