Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah of Sokoto Catholic Diocese recently disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration was leaving the country more vulnerable and corrupt.
This is even as the revered Bishop said the administration has improved on Nigeria’s infrastructure, especially roads and commended Buhari for his efforts and honesty at seeking to end malfeasance in the electoral processes and his support for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
However, as the 2023 general elections draw nearer, the Bishop admonished Nigerians not to be cynical but, choose leaders who will care, cry and laugh with them.
While urging members of the political class to demonstrate their grasp of the length and breadth of the problems that bedevils the country, Bishop Kukah said and Quote “We have heard your promises, but we do know that promises before elections are sweet, but actions after elections are often bitter.”
