The Kwara State Government, through the Kwara State Environmental Protection Agency (KWEPA), has reaffirmed its commitment to enforcing environmental laws and ensuring the health and well-being of citizens. The state government declared it would continue to use all necessary measures to tackle environmental nuisances across the state, with no compromise on cleanliness or environmental regulations.
Hajia Idayat Folorunsho, Acting General Manager of KWEPA, made this statement while addressing the Shop Owners Association at Taiwo Oke, Ilorin, during a routine enforcement exercise.
Leading the KWEPA enforcement team, Hajia Folorunsho emphasized that the state government would not tolerate any actions that undermine its environmental sanitation efforts. She urged shop owners to comply with the state’s environmental laws.
To support a cleaner and greener environment, she recommended that all shop owners procure a covered waste bin and register with a government-approved waste consultant to ensure proper waste disposal at designated dump sites.
Hajia Folorunsho also praised the current administration for its efforts to improve the health and living conditions of the state’s residents by maintaining a clean and habitable environment. She called for the full cooperation of shop owners in supporting the government’s initiatives for the benefit of all citizens.
“Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration has consistently prioritized the safety and well-being of residents. We all have a responsibility to play our part in supporting these efforts and ensuring our environment remains clean,” she concluded.
