Ilorin – The Kwara State Government has commenced the construction of a six-story Court House complex in Ilorin, aimed at enhancing judicial services in the state.
The legacy project, located along Ahmadu Bello Way, will feature eight courtrooms, offices, a conference hall, and a library, among other modern facilities. Officials say the project aligns with the government’s vision to strengthen the judiciary and improve infrastructure.
At the handover ceremony to the project consultant, Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Segun Ogunsola, emphasized that the Court House reflects Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s commitment to comprehensive state development.
“This initiative, the first of its kind in Africa, demonstrates the Governor’s dedication to revamping all sectors, including the judiciary,” Ogunsola said. He also used the occasion to congratulate Governor AbdulRazaq on his birthday and assured that the project would be a model for the judiciary sector in Nigeria.
He urged the contractor to ensure top-quality execution and meet global standards to justify the government’s investment.
The General Manager of the Kwara State Procurement Agency, Alhaji Abdulbaki Abdulraheem, described the project as another milestone for the AbdulRazaq administration. He assured residents that the government remains committed to transforming the state’s infrastructure.
Speaking on behalf of the contractor, Craneburg International, project consultant Babatunde Sofola of Baron Architecture pledged to deliver a high-quality and globally competitive structure in line with the contract agreement.
The event was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, the Kwara State Ministry of Justice, and Baron Architecture, among others.
