Residents of Lafia, the capital of Nasarawa State, have expressed their frustration over poor power supply and high electricity bills.
The residents of the area have planned to stage a peaceful protest at the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, AEDC, office along Makurdi road.
The decision to protest comes on the heels of an incident where a staff member of AEDC was reportedly assaulted while attempting to disconnect power supply to a neighbourhood.
VOP News gathered that a confrontation ensued between residents and workers of the DisCo last Thursday.
The organisers of the protest have called on residents to join them in demanding solutions to the town’s power crisis and fair treatment in billing.
The protest, scheduled for Tuesday, February 20, aims to draw attention to the challenges faced by residents and to advocate for improved services from the electricity distribution company
