While in Lagos, the State House of Assembly has given explanations on the reason behind the recently passed Forensic and DNA Bill.
The House on Monday passed the Bill at plenary and now awaits assent from Governor BABAJIDE SANWOOLU for it to take effect officially.
While speaking on the Forensic Bill, a member of the Assembly from Badagry, SETONJI DAVID said it was accorded priority due to huge benefits to the people of the state.
He said it was sad that over the years, the state had paid lip service to the issue of Forensics buttressing that signing the bill into law will assist security agencies in unravelling circumstances behind suspicious deaths in the state.
The Spokeman of the Assembly also disputed the claims against the state in the establishment of the Amotekun Security Network.
According to him, Lagos has nothing against Amotekun and that Lagos State has the Neighbourhood Watch Security Outfit.
