The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Lagos Sector Command, has confirmed that a fatal road accident in the early hours of Monday claimed one life and left two others injured.
In a statement released in Lagos, Sector Commander Mr. Kehinde Hamzat stated that the crash occurred at approximately 5:36 a.m. along the Tradefair–Agbara route, near the Iyana Era Bus Stop.
The incident involved two vehicles: a blue Mack truck (registration number AKD 579 XM) and a silver Lexus saloon car (registration number LSR 545 JN). According to Hamzat, five adult males were involved in the crash.
Preliminary investigations by the FRSC revealed that the cause of the crash was attributed to speed violation and loss of control, despite favorable road conditions. The impact of the collision resulted in the death of one adult male and injuries to two others.
Hamzat noted that the FRSC emergency response team arrived at the scene within four minutes of the report and quickly took action to manage the situation. The injured were promptly taken to Alimosho General Hospital for treatment.
He extended condolences to the family of the deceased and wished the injured a quick recovery, while urging motorists to avoid speeding and maintain control of their vehicles to prevent such tragedies.
