In a recent enforcement action, the Lagos State Government has sealed a residential building found to be operating without any toilet facilities. The move comes as part of an ongoing effort to address public health concerns and improve living conditions within the city.

According to officials, the building, located in a densely populated area, was housing multiple families despite lacking basic sanitation amenities. Inspectors discovered that residents had no access to proper restroom facilities, raising significant concerns over hygiene and the risk of disease outbreaks in the area.

A spokesperson for the Lagos Ministry of Environment and Water Resources emphasized the importance of sanitation for residents’ safety, stating, “It is unacceptable for any residence to lack fundamental amenities, such as a toilet. This not only endangers those living there but also impacts surrounding communities.”

The government has reiterated its commitment to enforcing building codes and ensuring that all residential structures meet minimum health and safety standards. The building will remain closed until necessary improvements are made to comply with regulations.
