Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, has warned convicted actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, to stop mentioning her children in public statements.

Ms Ojo issued the warning on Sunday, via a post on Instagram.

“I honestly have no problem with you telling your side of the story. But cease and desist from using my children as your cheap bait,” Ms Ojo said.

She added that she would take legal action if the actor continues to reference her children publicly.

“The court found you guilty based on evidence, so please don’t drag my kids into this,” she stated.

Ms Ojo’s reaction follows recent interviews granted by Mr Omiyinka, where he referenced past interactions with her children.

He claimed that the actress had, at different times, left her children in his care during their younger years.

He also expressed disappointment over their current strained relationship.

Baba Ijesha’s response

Mr Omiyinka maintained that he never intended harm and expressed emotional distress over the situation.

“I cannot wish her bad. What she has become today, I do not understand,” he said.

He also described past incidents where he allegedly supervised her children at her business premises in Lagos.

Legal position

Ms Ojo insisted that her children were always under proper supervision and never left unattended.

She emphasised that her business environment had multiple staff, making the claims questionable.

She warned that continued references to her children would attract legal consequences.

The exchange has reignited public conversation around the case involving Mr Omiyinka.

It also raises concerns about the use of minors in public narratives and media discussions.

Legal experts say such warnings could lead to defamation or harassment suits if ignored.

Background

Mr Omiyinka was previously convicted over a case involving a minor, which drew widespread public outrage.

Ms Ojo was one of the prominent voices who spoke against the incident at the time.

The renewed media exchanges suggest lingering tensions between both parties years after the case.
