Manchester City winger Savinho and defender Manuel Akanji have added to the club’s growing injury concerns following Wednesday’s 2-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the League Cup. Manager Pep Guardiola reported that he now has only 13 players available in his squad.
Savinho was stretchered off in the 62nd minute due to a suspected ankle injury, while Akanji did not participate in the match because of a muscular issue that arose during the warm-up. The team is already missing significant players like Kevin De Bruyne, Rodri, and Kyle Walker, along with Oscar Bobb, Jeremy Doku, and Jack Grealish, who have all been sidelined for recent matches.
Despite these challenges, City is still at the top of the Premier League, leading Liverpool by one point, and will face Bournemouth on Saturday.
