In a shocking tale of deception and abandonment, a Nigerian man who had lived in the United Kingdom for over 10 years reportedly married a woman online and later invited her to join him abroad — only to leave her in massive debt and return to Nigeria without any intention of coming back or repaying the borrowed money.
According to sources close to the situation, the man had met the woman through social media and built a relationship that eventually led to marriage. After securing her travel documents, he invited her to the UK where they began living together as husband and wife.
Shortly after her arrival, the man allegedly took out a large loan in her presence — with both of them supposedly benefiting from the funds. However, just weeks later, he abruptly left the UK, returning to Nigeria and cutting off contact, leaving his wife to deal with the burden of repaying the debt.
The woman, now stranded and facing pressure from lenders, is reportedly struggling to cope with the financial and emotional fallout. Friends say she had trusted her husband completely and had no idea he was planning to abandon her.
Authorities are said to be investigating the case, but as of now, the man remains in Nigeria and appears to have no plans to return to the UK or settle the outstanding debt.
The case has sparked online outrage, with many calling it a cautionary tale about trust, marriage, and the dangers of online relationships that escalate too quickly without adequate vetting.
