Mbah Gets Support as Group Pledges Grassroots Mobilization for 2027

ENUGU, Nigeria — The Enugu State Unity Forum (EUF), a political support group backing Governor Peter Mbah, has pledged to embark on massive grassroots sensitization across the Enugu East Senatorial Zone ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

The group made the commitment during the inauguration of its Enugu East zonal chapter at the Enugu East Local Government Secretariat, Nkwo-Nike, on Tuesday.

Speaking at the event, the zonal coordinator, Dr. Chukwuemeka Nwatu, said the forum’s mission is to consolidate public awareness of Governor Mbah’s achievements and ensure his seamless reelection.[irp]

“We are especially attracted to what Governor Peter Mbah is doing in Enugu State. We came together organically — not because we hold positions in government, but because we are impressed and happy with his performance,” Nwatu said.

“He is working for us and for generations yet unborn. His second term will come by merit, and we will continue to spread the message of his good governance until 2027.”

According to Nwatu, the forum’s grassroots executives will engage residents in villages, wards, and polling units to highlight the governor’s developmental strides across the 260 wards in the state.

‘Mbah Is a Symbol of Unity’ — Enugu East Council Chairman

Also speaking, the Chairman of Enugu East Local Government Area, Pastor Beloved-Dan Anike, described Governor Mbah as “a rare breed” whose leadership has redefined unity and development in the state.

“He is a man nurtured for this moment — bringing everyone together and showing us the future,” Anike said.

“Governor Mbah toured nearly all wards during his campaign, listening to the people and taking notes. Those requests are the milestones he’s now achieving. Soon, he will embark on another ward-to-ward visit to evaluate progress halfway into his first term.”[irp]

Anike praised the governor’s administration for promoting both peace and development, describing Mbah as “the epitome and symbol of unity in Enugu politics.”

“There can be no development without peace, and no peace without development. Governor Mbah understands this balance and that’s why his leadership stands out,” he added.

The Enugu State Unity Forum said its triangular mandate is to “drum support, promote awareness, and sustain public confidence” in Mbah’s leadership as preparations build toward the 2027 general elections.
