Morale Boost | Edo PDP Inaugurates New State Secretariat in Benin City

In a significant morale boost for the Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the party has received a newly donated secretariat from its National Vice Chairman (South-South), Chief Dan Orbih. The new office comes as a replacement following the party’s forceful eviction from its former location, which had been linked to political interference by the rival All Progressives Congress (APC).

Orbih, who handed over the new facility to party leaders in Benin City, said the gesture was a fulfillment of a promise he made during a recent strategic meeting with PDP stakeholders. He emphasized that the donation was not just about providing a physical space, but about restoring confidence and unity within the party ranks.

“This is a defining moment for our party in Edo. We have been through challenging times, but this new secretariat is a symbol of our resilience, our unity, and our readiness to rebuild stronger than ever,” Orbih stated.

He also used the occasion to criticize the immediate past governor and unnamed actors whom he accused of deliberately weakening the PDP structure in the state, describing their actions as “a betrayal of the collective trust of party members.”

The new secretariat is expected to serve as the administrative hub for the Edo PDP ahead of key political events, including the 2024 governorship election in the state. Party officials say the facility is fully equipped to support strategic planning, mobilization, and engagement with the grassroots.

Stakeholders at the event hailed Orbih’s leadership and described the move as a timely intervention that will reposition the party for future success.
