The Jordan Armed Forces have evacuated the 10th group of sick children from Gaza under the Jordanian Medical Corridor initiative, the military said in a statement.

The latest group comprised 19 children accompanied by 62 family members, who were transported to Jordan for specialised treatment in local hospitals. The operation was carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organisation (WHO).

Since the initiative began in March, a total of 153 children and 365 family members have been evacuated to Jordan by land and air to receive medical care.

Jordan’s King Abdullah II had announced in February the country’s readiness to admit up to 2,000 Palestinian children from Gaza for treatment.
