MTN Nigeria Unveils First Fully Digitized 5G Experience Centre in Abuja

MTN Nigeria has launched its first fully digitized experience centre in Abuja, powered by advanced 5G technology. This cutting-edge facility is designed to improve customer experience by offering a variety of digital services and solutions, marking a significant step in the company’s ongoing commitment to leveraging technology to meet growing user demands.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony at the regional office in Maitama, MTN Nigeria’s Chief Customer and Experience Officer, Ugonwa Nwoye, highlighted the significance of the centre, stating that it demonstrates the transformative power of technology. “Today, we launched the first digital experience centre in Nigeria by any telecom firm. One of our goals was to bring a digital immersive experience as close as possible to our customers and businesses.”

Nwoye emphasized how the launch underlines the potential of technology to improve lives, adding, “We wanted to showcase what is possible with the technology we provide. As you know, MTN is a technology company that harnesses tech to enhance the lives of our customers and businesses around us. We believe Nigeria’s full potential can be reached through technology. That’s why we were the first to launch 3G, then 4G, and now 5G.”

She also noted that the centre is designed with local relevance in mind and powered by 5G technology, offering a seamless user journey. “We built the first digital kiosk in Nigeria, enabling up to eight user journeys where customers can access our services independently, though staff assistance is available if needed.”

In addition to the kiosk, customers can purchase SIM cards, airtime, data plans, and 5G devices, such as routers, with delivery options available nationwide. The centre also features smart home solutions, allowing users to control their homes remotely via data connections.

“This isn’t just about data and devices; it’s about empowering people to live a breathtaking life. We want Nigerians to meet their full potential and unleash their creativity, as technology is the driving force behind their imagination. What we’re doing today is enabling people to experience technology, sparking their creativity and empowering them to innovate,” Nwoye added.

The Regional General Manager for the North, ThankGod Otorkpa, highlighted the importance of digital transformation, while also emphasizing the need to maintain human connection. “Even though we are going digital, we must not forget the human connection. It’s in that light that we have invited you today to be part of this journey, helping us take a glance into the future together.”

The launch of the MTN Digital Experience Centre further underscores the company’s role in shaping Nigeria’s technological future, as it continues to lead the way in digital innovation.
