Kogi Govt Reports Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan to Security Agencies
The Kogi State Government has urged security agencies to hold Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan responsible for any violence that may arise following her recent homecoming rally.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Commissioner for Information, Kingsley Fanwo, accused the senator of defying the government’s ban on political gatherings, imposed by Governor Usman Ododo to maintain security.
“She should be held accountable for her blatant attempts to incite violence and cause unnecessary tension,” Fanwo stated, alleging that Akpoti-Uduaghan deliberately violated the restriction to provoke unrest in Kogi Central.
Despite the ban, the senator was warmly received by a massive crowd in Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area. By 8 a.m., supporters from across the five LGAs of Kogi Central had gathered to welcome the PDP lawmaker, highlighting growing political tensions in the state.
