The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) has received the Institutional Leadership in Risk Advocacy Awardfrom the Chartered Risk Management Institute (CRMI), in recognition of its commitment to strengthening risk management in Nigeria’s financial system.
The award was announced by CRMI and shared on NDIC’s official X handle on Tuesday. According to the institute, the corporation was honoured for its proactive supervision, robust enterprise risk frameworks, and consistent advocacy, which have enhanced stability and depositor protection in the banking sector.
“NDIC continues to demonstrate leadership in safeguarding depositors’ funds and enhancing financial system stability,” CRMI stated.
Responding to the recognition, NDIC’s Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Thompson Sunday, commended the institute for the honour.
Speaking through the Director of the Enterprise Risk Management Department, Mrs. Amal, who represented him at the event, Sunday reaffirmed NDIC’s resolve to entrench a strong risk culture across the financial ecosystem.
He assured that the corporation would continue to contribute to building a safer and more sustainable financial sector in the country, in line with its mandate of protecting depositors and promoting public confidence.
